Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Backend Software Engineer:
– Plan, develop, and execute Train Control research studies focusing on system data quality, statistical modeling, and component performance evaluation
– Lead small teams, fostering an environment of growth and learning
– Architect high-performance, secure backend systems, ensuring optimal performance
– Evaluate and advise on appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools based on project requirements
– Maintain positive working relationships across departmental boundaries, handling multiple requests simultaneously
Required Skills for Backend Software Engineer:
– 6+ years of experience in C#/.NET with emphasis on ADO.NET and .NET Core
– 4+ years of experience with data engineering and a strong background in on-prem ETL tools and solutions
– 4+ years of experience working on SQL Server with a strong understanding of indexes, replication, and SSIS
– 4+ years of experience with building scalable APIs and the ability to architect secure, efficient, and performant solutions
– 4+ years of experience with Azure Devops/TFS/GIT
