Overview
An exciting opportunity to build your experience and resume is now available for an IT Intern in our Information Technology department at UP Health System – Portage. This opportunity provides a current computer science student, a temporary employment experience, to apply your knowledge, while growing your IT skills, in a fast-paced healthcare setting. In this role, you will support the help desk, troubleshoot hardware and software, and IT projects.
Required Skills:
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Provide excellent customer service.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Currently enrolled in a degree program associated with Computer Science or related field required
Experience with problem solving and troubleshooting required
Experience with Microsoft Systems and Applications preferred
Experience with Network hardware and printers preferred
Understanding of computer hardware and applications preferred
Understanding of network protocols and best practices preferred
Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
