Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Lead Technician:
- Conduct on-site field surveys at customer premises to scop customer work as needed
- Perform installation and service work on customer site, as necessary and assigned.
- Conduct field quality control inspections, surveys, and audits to ensure customer specifications are achieved on product or system installations and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Provide support and direction to other technicians in the field, supervising work performed and checking for accuracy and quality of work.
- Serve as a technical liaison between company and client locations in your assigned area.
- Resolve issues at the lowest level; escalate issues as required to ensure client satisfaction.
- Train subcontractors and technicians on theory and practices for reliable quality installations.
- Provide client cabling management and the Corporate office management with written reports and updates as needed and directed.
Required Skills for the Lead Technician:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on field experience and/or cabling project management experience.
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have a structured cabling certification (i.e., BICSI) or equivalent structured cabling experience.
- Knowledge of Cat 5 cable certification is necessary.
- LAN and telephone, including associated network device installation quality standards would be helpful.
- Minimum of 5 years structured cabling field experience and in depth understanding of cabling equipment installation standards.
